Hard to respect 'greedy workers'
Mayor David Miller seems shocked that the union would not respect the 48-hour notice before striking 'deal'. Isn't it time the mayor woke up and realized he can't count on union fealty - even when he gives away the store in salary and benefits?
Now the mayor can do the job he should be performing - working for the residents in Toronto. He and his executive committee treat us like excess baggage. With Ontario in a severe downturn, we can't afford the huge wage increases offered to TTC workers and we certainly can't afford the open-end deal that was tacked on to keep wages higher than any surrounding area.
These people keep talking about "respect". How can anyone feel respect for greedy workers who are fortunate to have the salaries and benefits already enjoyed by the TTC workers?
