Toronto Property Tax Incentives - do they help the economy? Recently, the City of Toronto approved property tax incentives to compete with economic growth and job creation in the 905 region. Property tax incentives are applied across the United States as a way to increase the municipal property tax base and encourage economic growth - but do they work? The Toronto Office Coalition commissioned a report on the implications of property tax incentives for Toronto.
