What's on your bucket list?

As tulips start to bloom around Toronto, I'm inspired to look for new ways to grow as a person. There are so many ways to develop and gather new ideas.

I just read an inspiring book and thought I'd share a little about it. It's about overcoming brick walls and achieving our childhood dreams. It's written by a fellow who's got terminal cancer and it's inspired me to revisit my "bucket list." That's the list of things I want to do before I take my last breath. This book helped me remember a few of my childhood dreams and I've added those things to my list.

The book is called The Last Lecture and Randy Pausch has a wonderful message to share with examples from his own life. Check out www.thelastlecture.com and there's also a video of his lecture on YouTube.

Pausch reminds us that the brick walls are there for a reason. They're not there to keep us out. The brick walls give us a chance to show how much we want something. They're there to stop the other people. This is so very true. And, it's a timely reminder.

If I live to be 80 years of age, I have a little over 10,000 days left. While scientific developments can add years to my life, I'm the only one who can add life to those years.

Do you have a bucket list? Have you looked at it recently? How much do you want the things on your list? What does it take to stop you in your tracks? What are you willing to do to reach your goals? Is your list posted somewhere or available for you to review?

It really helps to find a way to remind ourselves of the things we want to do. Does anyone else know which goals you're after? They may even be able to help you achieve them.

It may be later than you think. What do you want to do before you leave this planet? Let me know if you have any challenges around how to get there and we'll brainstorm a plan.
