The August pets are from Toronto Animal Services South, located at 140 Princes’ Blvd. at the Horse Palace, Exhibition Place.
Sara is a spayed female rabbit who is litter-box trained and very gentle. Believe it or not, she has been waiting for a home since last August. Although the good folks at the shelter take good care of her, there really is no place like your own home. If you are looking to adopt a rabbit, why not hop down and consider Sara as your new family member? A364855 is her animal identification number.
Princess is a spayed female domestic short-hair cat. She is about two years old and has been waiting for a home since early January. Little Princess has a mild heart murmur and gets passed by for adoption. She does not need any medication and is not symptomatic. The staff at the shelter say her heart murmur does not affect her quality of life in any way. She would, however, prefer a home without other cats. She would like all the human attention for herself, please. Identification number is A368624.

Since Exhibition Place was mentioned, that reminds me that the CNE opens Aug. 17.
The Ex remains one of my favourite “let’s be a kid for a day” events. If you are going, don’t forget that the SuperDogs perform each year. Did you know that almost half of the dogs on the team have been adopted from shelters or rescue organizations? Good for the SuperDogs!
Here’s the blurb from the CNE website ( www.theex.com ): With wagging tails and winning ways, the ever popular SuperDogs launch a brand new show at the CNE this year: “Simply Woofy: it’s freakin’ dogtastic!.” Come, sit, stay and enjoy Canada’s premiere family entertainment. Simply Woofy is not only crazy cute canine fun, but a stunning riveting super spectacle with the world’s most popular dogs: the Iams SuperDogs!
