Senior critically injured in fire
Man, 72, hurt in Vaughan Road blaze

The Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of a Saturday night fire that left a York senior fighting for his life.

Flames broke out at about 11 p.m. at the man's home on Vaughan Road near St. Clair Avenue and Bathurst Street.

The 72-year-old was on the couch when he saw the fire and tried to escape the flames but collapsed.

He was taken to hospital suffering from life-threatening burns.
