I have lived in the Runnymede and Annette area for 15 years and I can't believe that I am actually considering leaving due to the Metroworks projects that seem to now be an annual event.
While we all understand that it is important to make continuous improvements to infrastructure to support our growing city, it also needs to be done in a measured approach that allows people to maintain some quality of life. The ongoing work on Runnymede and frankly the "summer from hell" on Annette has dramatically impacted life in a once beautiful neighbourhood and many of us hold Councillor Bill Saundercook accountable for being missing in action on this issue.
What we are seeing on Annette is slowly becoming comparable to what St. Clair residents experienced over several years but at least they were consulted.
Meanwhile, back in Bloor West Village every morning brings a new road crew, more delays in the simple things of life like trying to get the kids to school and ongoing pollution and stress.
Come out of hiding, councillor.
