We are proud of our councillor John Filion and the members of his council for the stand they have taken in naming the new street to the Churchill Basswood town houses as OMB Folly. We applaud their courage, undaunted spirit and their standing for the right.

We fought OMB's bad decision all the way to the Divisional court. We lost not because we did not have a case. The court ruled in their favour on a legal technicality. The actual issues in question were completely sidestepped. We are the innocent victims of the OMB's folly.

The whole saga took its heavy toll on us - enormous time, emotional suffering and considerable legal expenses (we had to pay the legal fees for the developer's lawyer as well). We certainly would not wish anyone else to have to go through what we did.

Even though we are going to be surrounded by taller town houses, we are all the more determined. We will not move. We will continue our pediatric medical service to the community.
