Titan girls win gold at Pittsburgh championship
U15 volleyball team wins top spot second year in a row
The Scarborough Titans U15 volleyball team won the East Coast Championships for the second year in a row.
"Winning gold at this culminating East Coast Championships was a great way to finish off the season," said coach Branka Klipa. "As coach, I am extremely proud of their hard work and commitment throughout the season."
There were 40 teams competing in their division at the three-day tournament held in Pittsburgh last month.
Klipa said the Titans faced some "stiff competition" from a Virginia Beach, Virginia team in the semi-finals and a Fort Wayne, Indiana team in the finals.
"They are a really close-knit group of wonderful, hard-working girls," Klipa said.
