AAA GIRLS SOCCER
Leaside High School made it to the playoff round of the AAA girls OFSAA provincial championships in Hamilton this week.
Unfortunately, Leaside was ousted by Northern from Sarnia.
Leaside advanced with a great preliminary round of three wins and a loss.
Their only preliminary round loss, in fact, was 2-0 to eventual OFSAA champion London Central, while they defeated F.J. Brennan (Chatham) 6-0, host Bishop Tonnos 2-1 and St. Peter's (Peterborough) 3-1.
AAAA BOYS SOCCER
The East York Collegiate senior boys soccer team sported a win, a tie and a loss at the quad-A OFSAA championships in Windsor this week, which unfortunately was not good enough to advance to the playoff round.
East York opened with a 4-2 win over St. Michael's, tied Holy Name 2-2 and then lost to St. Elizabath 2-1.
